Nitrogeneous compounds hold a special position among heterocycles due to their biological activity and extensive presence in nature. The development of new methods to reach those often complex molecules remains a major concern for organic chemists. Among the myriad of pathways described in the literature to construct such structures, gold-catalyzed reactions increasingly stand out thanks to their wide tolerance toward functional groups and air moisture. Moreover, gold cations act as outstanding Lewis acids, able to activate multiple bonds toward nucleophilic addition, being thus efficient tools to create C-N bonds.
